Biography
Angela is a Los Angeles based costume and set designer with over 100 productions to her credit. She began her career in her native Romania where she graduated with an MFA in Set and Costume Design from the Academy of Arts –Bucharest. After moving to the US she continued to design costumes and sets for theatre and film. Some of her credits include Crimes of the Heart, Taking Steps, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Nothing Sacred, The Retreat From Moscow, Princess Marjorie at South Coast Repertory; To Kill a Mockingbird, Absurd Person Singular, The Miracle Worker at Denver Center Theatre Company; The Constant Wife at Pasadena Playhouse; A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Hollywood Bowl, The Ice Breaker at the Laguna Playhouse; Christmas on Mars and The Winter’s Tale at The Old Globe; King Lear and The Cherry Orchard at Georgia Shakespeare; The Chairs, Great Expectations, Comedy of Errors, The Seagull, The Winter’s Tale (LADCC Award nomination) Another Part of the Forest (LADCC Award), Little Foxes (Garland Award), The Three Penny Opera (Drama Logue award), at A Noise Within Theatre. Other theatres include: Falcon Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, Mainstreet Theatre Co., West Coast Ensemble, LA Mirada Theatre, Odyssey Theatre, Theatre 40, Victory theatre. Angela has designed costumes and sets for 16 film and television productions for IRS Media, Cannon Films, Full Moon Prods, PBS, Liberty International, Romanian Films and she is a resident artist at A Noise Within Theatre in Pasadena. In her spare time Angela has participated with renderings and graphic work in over two dozen solo and group gallery exhibitions.
