LA STAGE ALLIANCE LA STAGE TIMES LA STAGE TIX SPACEFINDERLA

Join your peers from over 100 Southern California Arts and Culture organizations by participating in the LA STAGE Arts Census, a free resource provided by LA STAGE Alliance and Target Resource Group. The Census already contains over 2.8 million unique arts patron households!

Please contact Neal Spinler at LA Stage Alliance for information on how to use the new Data Upload Wizard!

WHAT IS THE ARTS CENSUS?

This program will save you time and money while allowing you to:

Learn who makes up your audience
See where else your audience participates in arts and culture
Identify areas for growth and collaboration
Gain tools to reach new audiences

Your staff uploads the contact information for your patrons into the Target Resource Group online Arts Census Database, where the data is cleaned, organized and appended with demographic and psychographic information about your patrons for you to use. Once it's been processed, you get access to TRG's online tool, eMerge, which gives you a variety of tools to better understand your current and prospective patrons! You retain complete control over your data - no one can access it without your express permission.

Standard Participation is FREE and open to any arts-related organization in Southern California.

WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?
Quarterly automatic cleaning of your contact household mailing addresses through the National Change of Address system, keeping you compliant with existing postal regulations and saving you postage, printing and reputation costs.

Reports on your patrons’ aggregated demographic, psychographic and geographic information are appended to your data from Acxiom – The global leader in interactive marketing services and consumer insight. 20 different categories of attributes including ethnicity, education level, income, zip code penetration, marital status, presence of children, home ownership and more are available to you at the click of a button.

Identification of high-yield ‘partner arts organizations’, who serve arts patrons that would be interested in your programming (determined by in-depth patron behavior analysis from the Census)

The ability to upload segments so you may better understand the specific dynamics of targeted groups within your audience.

The ability to opt-in to the permission-based mailing list trading functionality to reach out to new interested audiences.

HERE'S WHAT PARTICIPANTS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE ART CENSUS
"LA STAGE’s Arts Census has saved me countless hours of staff time and thousands of dollars in mailing list maintenance costs. It has delivered demographic and multi-buyer information for my own lists that I can compare and share with those of my colleagues. It’s a tremendous resource both for in-house campaigns and mailing list trades that also ensures our own patron’s privacy keeps me in control of who accesses patron data and when. Gone are the days of time-consuming list requests from unknown brokers and I think it’s brought the arts community of Los Angeles just a tad bit closer; the program created a tool where marketers and database admins can quickly share information and well-wishes about upcoming mailings. The best part? It’s free!"

— Joseph Yoshitomi
Marketing Director Geffen Playhouse

"The LA County Arts Commission considers the LA Arts & Culture Census a “triple threat” resource. The commission runs the Ford Theatres and finds the ease of identifying and accessing target audience lists accelerates implementing marketing strategies. We reference the census as an instructive and time and money-saving tool when doing marketing technical assistance with constituents. Lastly, the aggregated statistics that the census provides about cultural consumers in our region are invaluable in communicating about the arts community."

— Linda Chiavaroli
Director of Communications L.A. County Arts Commission/Ford Theatres
