Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman have created a musical tour through history in which we visit a few of the desperate individuals who attempted or succeeded in ending the life of a U.S. President. We begin in a carnival as the would-be assassins are beckoned by the proprietor of a shooting gallery to “Come here and kill a president!” in hopes of winning a prize.
