Biography

Brent Beerman graduated with an MFA in playwriting from UCLA and has worked in theaters and studios in the LA area. Most recently, he directed A Chicago Christmas at Crown City Theater in North Hollywood, and he has directed 42nd Street and Bye Bye Birdie at the RDC Summer Theater Program in Glendale, California. Brent was also the artistic director for Pathway Productions, and he is currently the theater director at Crescenta Valley High School, as well as the CV Theater Arts Outreach Program. As a playwright, Brent has written numerous full-length and one-act plays that have reached national acclaim. His play, Gabriel’s Rapture, won the Corner Stage National Theater Contest and Millionaires opened in an off-Broadway house. Dancing in the Shadows won the Pacificus Foundation of Los Angeles Literary Award, was featured in the Los Angeles Playwright’s Festival, and had a staged reading at the Moving Arts Theater in Los Angeles. A Dull Pain, Turned Sharp was a prize-winner at the MOXIE Films New Play Competition and was featured at the HOWL festival in New York City. Recently, Morning Song received an equity waiver production in Glendale’s Underground Theater.
