Biography
Elsbeth M. Collins (Associate Professor of Theatre Practice, Director of Production at USC School of Theatre) received her A.B. in Art History from Princeton University and continued her lifelong love affair with the theatre. Els and husband, actor James Greene, moved to Los Angeles in 1985 when he appeared in the production of The Iceman Cometh at the James A. Doolittle Theatre. Els began stage managing professionally in Los Angeles in 1986, and has since had the pleasure of working at the Pasadena Playhouse, the Mark Taper Forum, the Ahmanson, the Geffen Playhouse, and at the Hollywood Bowl over twenty very rich years. She has been the Director of Production for the USC School of Theatre since August of 2008, where she enjoys teaching and learning from the next generation of theatre artists: actors, designers, stage managers, and technical directors. Els is delighted to count herself among the faculty of the School of Theatre, and to work closely with the school’s faculty and staff to realize the twenty-six SOT Productions that are mounted by the school over the course of the year.
