Biography
Ken Booth has designed over 100 productions in Los Angeles since 1988, mostly in intimate theaters. An English Literature graduate from UCLA, he started volunteering at a small theater in Hollywood (Stages Theater) when he learned the playwright Eugene Ionesco was in residence. He was given the opportunity to design his first show after serving as general manager for a few years and then continued lighting for many small theaters thereafter. Some of those include the Tiffany Theaters, The Fountain Theater, Deaf West Theater Company, Stages Theater, The Cast Theater, and The Odyssey Theater. In 1998 he joined A Noise With as a resident artist and has designed more than 35 productions, including a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Hollywood Bowl. Ken has received two L.A. Drama Critic Circle awards, two L.A. Weekly awards, and 10 Ovation nominations. He also works as a gaffer and lighting programmer in the entertainment industry.
