Description:
Zuma Repertory Theatre presents this biting comedy by Hollywood television and feature film writer Howard Michael Gould, which tells the behind-the-scenes story of Deanna Denninger, a forty-something actress with a supersized ego who stars in "Deanna," a popular network sitcom. Deanna, who's been around the block more than once and isn't afraid to kiss-and-tell-everything, brings her Hollywood "A-list" theatrics to the set daily, driving her lead writer-producer, agent, and other co-workers to hysterics and ultimately leading to her undoing. Serving as "an insider's guide to working in Hollywood," the play tells a tale of lies and deceit and the self-serving motives that lead many astray. DIVA made its world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, CA in September 2001 and was last seen in the Los Angeles area at the Pasadena Playhouse in 2006.
