Biography

Sebastian Cummings was born in Frankfurt, Germany. Born into a military family, Sebastian spent much of his childhood traveling. A shy child, Sebastian always dreamed of performing as an actor but preferred the comfort of blending in a choir. While attending high school in Riverview, FL, Sebastian made his first venture into the world of acting. He landed a role in the ensemble of his school’s spring musical, West Side Story. Followed by a dance performance in his high school’s talent show he, himself, choreographed. After high school he attended Rutgers University where he majored in Theatre. Sebastian never felt more at home. He performed in every mainstage production the university produced while he was enrolled, managing 2 Irene Ryan Nominations during his career at Rutgers. He enlisted his fellow students to help produce his own plays that he performed during his university’s free period in the black box theater. Sebastian kept an interest in dance and much loved to infuse his theatrical work with original choreography. Sebastian began to find his identity in theater and managed an invitation to the Mid-America Theater Conference in 2009. In 2010 Sebastian took his work to Philadelphia theaters. His play, “Who Invited Jesus?”, premiered at Philadelphia’s Art, Life, Action! Festival, where it was positively received. He continued performing in original works in the greater Philadelphia area, including another original work of his own, “Once Upon A Time”, which he performed in the Philly Primary Stages 10 minute play festival in March of 2010. Sebastian continues to create and explore hoping to motivate and shine light. He continues to create, further exploring the possibilities of theatre and dance.
