THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG - JUNE 8–JULY 15 Book by NEIL SIMON With music by the Oscar winning composer Marvin Hamlisch ("A Chorus Line") and lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager (a '60s pop song writer), 'They're Playing Our Song' was a melding of talents that was to prove highly successful. Opening to great acclaim on Broadway in 1979 and London in 1980, the musical tells the bittersweet comedic story of a composer and his lyricist adept at writing the love songs that others swoon to, but unable to find the harmony they bring to others for themselves.
